Summary
A thesis that starts from the fact that conciliation has been regarded as an alternative means of justice in Bolivia for more than thirty years but, owing to limited legal culture, has not had the expected impact. It acknowledges that it now makes it possible to administer justice more quickly and efficiently, with respect for due process and basic guarantees. It provides the theoretical and legal bases for the notariat to exercise conciliation as a function of its own. It is useful for those working in the notariat, in conciliation and in the reform of alternative methods of dispute resolution.
