Summary
An empirical study in two prisons, one in Monterrey (Mexico) and the other in Santiago de Veraguas (Panama), on how the elements of restorative justice influence the resilience of the families of persons deprived of liberty. It uses a Likert-scale survey and analyses the data with logistic regression. It finds that reparation of harm is the element that most favours this resilience in both countries, whereas interpersonal forgiveness and family support carry little weight. It is useful for prison staff and for those evaluating reintegration programmes.
