Summary
The text of a paper presented in Villa Mercedes (San Luis) in May 2019. It defines restorative justice as the repair of a personal and social bond damaged by crime and distinguishes restorative circles, which surround the victim and the person who committed the offense, from meetings between the two parties. It describes what kind of victim can come to a meeting, insists on not revictimizing them or asking anything of them, and adds a third dimension: the community and the omissions of the State that weigh on the offender. It is useful for those who prepare or facilitate restorative meetings in criminal cases.
