Summary
It presents restorative youth justice as a peaceful approach to offences committed by adolescents, centred on the victim, the person responsible and the community. It briefly reviews how the model is applied in other countries and analyses the pilot plan for restorative justice in adolescent criminal cases in Lambaré, Paraguay. Based on a literature review of texts, laws and programme documents, it states that the model produced positive results and was widely accepted. It is useful for students and for youth criminal justice practitioners who want an introduction with a Paraguayan focus.
