Summary

The te reo Māori version of the report of Ināia Tonu Nei – Hui Māori, a gathering of more than two hundred people convened by Te Ohu Whakatika in Rotorua in April 2019 as part of New Zealand's criminal justice reform. A small team recorded what was said at the gathering: the Māori world view of justice, the call for power-sharing with the Crown, Māori-led responses, the well-being of children and young people, and the abolition of prisons, together with a list of actions, responsibilities, and timeframes. Useful for those studying Indigenous proposals for transforming justice.
