Summary

A work that criticises the judicial response to violence against women in cases of attempted femicide in rural areas, where the voices and demands of survivors tend to be left out on the grounds of neutrality. It evaluates the right of access to justice on the basis of three judgments from Arequipa, Apurímac and Loreto, and points out that criminal proceedings can cause revictimisation. It proposes incorporating a restorative justice model as a way of making that access a reality, especially in rural contexts. It is useful for those working with survivors and on serious offences of gender-based violence.
