Summary
An article that asks whether mediation is suitable for resolving conflicts involving gender-based violence against women, a subject on which there are positions for and against. It draws on the experience of the services of Cuba's Centro Nacional de Educación Sexual, with bibliographic and documentary analysis and a dialectical method. It concludes that, where violence is present, basic principles of the mediation procedure are violated, and therefore does not regard it as an effective method for such cases. It is useful for those designing mediation protocols and for those who support victims.
