Summary
A contribution to a panel on criminal mediation at the IACA conference, held on 31 May 2013. The speaker is a secretary general of the secretariat for access to justice and human rights of the Ministerio Público de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, who was a criminal, contraventions and petty offences judge. He describes his experience as a judge who, at the evidence admissibility hearing, could not refer the case to mediation because the code prevented it, and proposes a more effective response to the conflict. It lasts about twenty-three minutes. It is useful for those studying criminal mediation in the City of Buenos Aires.
