Summary

It introduces the restorative justice model as a paradigm shift in the criminal justice response to adolescents who have offended. It presents the range of practices aimed at repairing the harm caused by the offence: victim-offender mediation, the restorative dialogue group and peace circles. It sets out why to choose this model, reparation and reconciliation, and the central role of the victim and the person responsible, and closes with criticisms and reflections. It is useful for students and for youth criminal justice technical teams approaching the model from Uruguay.
