Summary

First episode of the JEP series «Sentencias que restauran». The president of the jurisdiction, judge Alejandro Ramelli, talks with journalist Jorge Espinosa about the meaning of restorative sentences and the challenges of putting them into practice. He explains the judicial route to those decisions, including the first sentences against seven former members of the FARC secretariat for kidnappings, and why restorative justice is a central approach to peace. On reparation projects, he maintains that they are an investment and not an expense. It is useful for those following the enforcement of the sanciones propias.
