Summary

A first-person text in which Diana Márquez recounts how, around the age of thirty, she remembered sexual abuse suffered in childhood by a relative who had since died, and how that experience became intertwined with her path as a mediator and restorative justice facilitator. She reflects on what a victim needs beyond criminal prosecution, on reparation through relationships and community, on her work at Víctimas por la Paz and in the Cooperativa Liberté, and on forgiveness. She also narrates the first restorative meeting she facilitated in Argentina in a homicide case. It is useful for those who accompany victims and those who facilitate restorative processes.
