The opening chapter of a course book of the Facultad de Trabajo Social of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, dedicated to Mario Juliano. It presents Víctimas por la Paz, a group of people who suffered crimes of varying severity and who reject penal hardening as a response. It explains how the group accompanies victims during the proceedings and after the sentence, attending to needs that retributive justice does not cover, such as truth, a meeting, or an apology, and proposes linking retributive and restorative justice. It recounts the first restorative meeting between a victim and adult offenders that the group carried out, in a case of negligent homicide.
