Summary
A thesis that starts from articles 115 and 180 of the Bolivian Constitution and from Ley 348, which guarantees women a life free from violence, to analyse conciliation as an exceptional alternative resolution in such cases. It argues that, in a State founded on the culture of peace and on the principle of legality, this conciliation requires adequate judicial oversight that protects due process and victims. It is useful for judicial and prosecution staff and for those debating the limits of agreements in gender-based violence.
