Summary
A monograph that analyses the legal, doctrinal and comparative framework of the notarial function and of voluntary conciliation in order to propose a reform in Bolivia. It starts from judicial overload, procedural delay and the lack of coordination between the Ley 483 del Notariado Plurinacional and the Ley 708 de Conciliación y Arbitraje, both of which recognise the notary's preventive function. It proposes that notaries take part in out-of-court conciliations by means of a public deed, as a contribution to the culture of peace. It is useful for those studying alternative methods of dispute resolution and legislative reform in Bolivia.
