Summary
A national law enacted on June 21, 2017 and published on July 13, 2017. Its purpose is to recognize and guarantee the rights of victims of crime and of human rights violations, including advice, assistance, representation, protection, truth, access to justice, fair treatment, and reparation. It considers a victim the directly offended person and, in offenses resulting in death, their spouse, cohabiting partner, parents, children, siblings, guardians, or custodians. Its provisions are matters of public order.
